Variax 300 - distortion / noise / loss of level

Hi all,

I've just plugged in my variax 300 after not using it for a couple of months and the signal output seems to have a lot of noise / sitrortion / crackle / loss of level.

I've checked my cables and connections, replaced the batteries etc etc.

Can anyone help?

Thanks,

Re: Variax 300 - distortion / noise / loss of level

more than likelk   like  most guitars  that  do this   the  problem  is  dirty control pots  and  switches. what  i do for  this  is  to  spray  them  with  a  good  contact  cleaner  and  work them  back  and  fourth.   variax  pots  are sealed  so you  have  to spray  down  the  shaft.    the   model  select pot  is   open  so you can  spray  in the  side  of  it  and   so  is  the  pickup  switch.

If you have no way of trying to re-install the flash memory of the Variax 300, you will need to contact an authorized service center to take a look at the guitar:
