Some of our users have run into the following message when trying to install our latest Mac driver (4.2.4) on the 32 bit mode of Snow Leopard. This error is a known issue on our side and is in our queue to be fixed although there is no ETA at this time. This error message will not prevent the install of the driver. This means that you can completely ignore this error message.

Note: This error message will appear only when attempting to install the latest Line 6 driver (4.2.4) while running Snow Leopard in 32 bit mode. Line 6 does NOT SUPPORT Snow Leopard in 64 bit mode!!! The driver will not work.

You need to uninstall all Line 6 software and reinstall, see:

chy_qn chy_qn  says:

although I got this kext error message, the driver works perfectly, dunno why.

bahamu7 bahamu7  says in response to chy_qn:

I only had this problem while I had the port connected at the time of installation. My Podfarm works well, but line6monkey does not recognize the ux2 connected. So basically I can't use the packs I downloaded.

bahamu7 bahamu7  says:

Ok, I got the line6 monkey issue fixed. All I needed to do was download the newer version directly from the website and basically the issue fixed itself.

bobbymeeks bobbymeeks  says:

It's such a shame that Line6 still doesn't have a 64 bit driver for this. It's been quite some time since the release of OSXSL and still there are little unsupported updates here and there. I bought my toneport 2X thinking I was going to get back into recording music... Instead it just collects dust. Looks like it's time to ebay it and move on to a company that moves a little faster... I never had any issues with my M-Audio software...

And yes I know that I can use it in 32bit but personally... I don't think I'll ever go back to that archaic platform. Sorry guys... Time for me to move on.

Gahl Gahl  says:

You're loosing customers, Line6.. You should really get to work on solving the problems for the Snow Leopard users, both the 32bit and 64bit users. We're tired of waiting.

Silverface Silverface  says in response to Gahl:

IMO Line really screwed the pooch this time.  There was plenty of notice from Apple that the OS was being upgraded.

I have exactly zero other software or hardware issues with Snow Leopard.

What I'm wondering is why they were not savvy enough to send a mass email to all registered users saying...well, "you're screwed"  is really the only answer.

Lots of excuses but expressed while waving pom-poms and cheerleading like crazy.

It's SO bad that questions posted on the forums are apparently ignored now.

Time to start doing some shopping.....

TheMaxxx TheMaxxx  says in response to Silverface:

This is something that I can't really stand.. I use SnowLeopard (64bit) and there is no chanche to make the drivers work properly... or well, they do not work at all actually.

It's really annoying!!  I agree with Silverface....time to do some shopping....

gauthieralex gauthieralex  says:

same problem here... except that my mac crashes (!!) as soon as i plug my toneport in it, i cant get it to work at all with any driver.

Sorry, but I don't think the Monkey currently works. All you can do is install Gearbox and the drivers.

Are you sure you aren't running in 64-bit mode? See notes at bottom of this blog post.

bahamu7 bahamu7  says in response to nicktrout:

Actually I got everything working fine right now: Pod Farm working, installed the packs through monkey... Everythings OK, the only thing is I'm doing recording using the standalone and not the plugin. When I record the audio dry and use the plugin for the effects I get a playback delay (The audio start fine but it takes about a second for the effects to kick in and change the audio sound), but I don't think that's much of an issue. If it's something thats easy to fix then cool.

Corey747 Corey747  says:

How can I get the free FX Junkie pack if monkey won't recognize the UX2 when it's connected?

Corey747 Corey747  says in response to nicktrout:

I have the same problem.  I can't get the free FXJunkie pack that was promised with the UX2.  Is there a way around this or do we have to wait for Line6 to come up with the fix?

iMac63 iMac63  says in response to nicktrout:

I really need software for MAC Snow Leopard (10.6.2) rather urgent to use the KB37 together with my (real) Guitar. PODFarm is working with the driver 4.2.6 but I cannot use my guitar or base with KB37 at all. Line6 should fix the problem asap to be able to use KB37 in full mode!
